Medical Disclaimer

Last updated: 30 May 2026

Please read this carefully before using Seravi. The way you use this service should reflect what it actually is — a hosting platform — and what it is not — a medical device or a substitute for medical care.

In a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on Seravi, Nightscout, your CGM, or any consumer software for emergency response. Examples of emergency numbers: 112 (EU), 911 (US), 101 (Magen David Adom, Israel).

Seravi is not a medical device

Seravi provides hosting infrastructure for the open-source Nightscout software. We are an infrastructure provider — comparable to a website host — and we do not develop, certify, manufacture, or warrant the Nightscout software itself.

Seravi has not been evaluated by, registered with, or certified by any medical-device regulatory authority, including the European Medicines Agency, national competent authorities under EU Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or any equivalent body. Seravi is not intended for, and should not be used for, the diagnosis, prevention, monitoring, prediction, prognosis, treatment, or alleviation of any disease.

Nightscout is third-party open-source software

Nightscout is a community-developed, open-source project distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3. It is not developed by Seravi. Seravi is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Nightscout Foundation or its contributors. Anyone can self-host Nightscout for free; Seravi simply makes the hosting easier.

The Nightscout project itself describes the software as "a community-developed cloud application that allows real-time access to a CGM data from web browsers" and emphasizes that users assume all responsibility for use. We echo that position.

Not a substitute for medical care

The data displayed through your Nightscout site is provided "as is" for your personal informational use. It is not a substitute for:

Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition, and never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you observed via Seravi or Nightscout.

Accuracy of data

The accuracy of glucose readings displayed via your Nightscout site depends on:

Seravi does not validate, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any data displayed. Data may be delayed, missing, duplicated, or incorrect. Treatment decisions must be based on validated, real-time measurements from medically certified devices, not on data displayed via Seravi.

Treatment decisions are your responsibility

You — or, if applicable, the parent or legal guardian of the person whose data is being displayed — are solely responsible for all decisions made on the basis of data viewed via Seravi.

This includes (but is not limited to) decisions about insulin dosing, food intake, exercise, sensor changes, and when to seek medical attention. Seravi accepts no liability for treatment decisions made using data hosted on our infrastructure.

Use by parents and guardians

When a parent or guardian uses Seravi to monitor diabetes data on behalf of a minor (a common use case in pediatric Type 1 diabetes), the same disclaimers apply: the parent or guardian is responsible for any treatment decisions, and the service does not replace clinical oversight by the child's healthcare team.
